Credibility: What is it?
Defining credibility is difficult because it’s not a tangible “thing.” Some define it as trustworthiness or expertness. Others say it has something to do with integrity, honesty, leadership or relevance.
We look at credibility in a purely practical and functional way. We think of it as the confidence that your prospects and customers have in your ability to support their business.
Here’s what’s important: You don’t get to define your own credibility. No matter how great your personal integrity or competence, it is not you who gets to determine your credibility. Credibility can only be given to you by other people.
